Shootout at Chillax Studio - Roberta part 1

This is the first part of a new shootout series, from an event that took place on November 17th, 2024, at Chillax Studios in Vimodrone (MI), hosted by photographer Alessio Mapelli.

In this first part, the model I photographed is the lovely Roberta Ghirotto.

As this was a shootout event, don’t expect to see any artistic nude photography here. This series is limited to glamour and lingerie-style portraits—some more useful, some more playful.

Still, there are a few interesting points to share.
First: I had the opportunity to meet and photograph several models for the very first time.

Second: events like this often become testing grounds for me. I try out new techniques or rediscover old ones, which later find their way—more confidently—into my art nude shoots.

For instance, in the images above and below, I ended up "rediscovering" the qualities of a lens I had set aside for a while: the Pentax Limited 70mm f/2.4.
It was one of the first lenses I used when I started shooting with Pentax. Eventually, I replaced it with the more professional (and heavier) Pentax 85mm f/1.4 Star—a scalpel of a lens, but also quite tiring to use for long periods.

Surprisingly, the little 70mm still holds up beautifully. And more importantly—I can shoot with it for longer without getting exhausted. That got me thinking: why not sell the “professional” lens? Only the stars above know how much I need the money right now...

Anyway, this was just the first of three sets I shot with Roberta. I'll try to squeeze the remaining two into one post next time—if I can—due to time constraints.

I hope you enjoyed the beauty I've shared today, and I look forward to seeing you next Monday for the second (and maybe final) part.

Stay creative, stay shining, stay burning.
